Melissa Joan Hart is featured in Ok! talking about her post-baby weight loss. Hart gave birth to a second son 4 months ago, and now says she is only 5 pounds away from her 'goal' weight'. This time around the actress says she tried harder to drop her weight, although, she is not trying to lose too much because she is breastfeeding. Here are some highlights:

How much extra weight did you put on when you were pregnant?
I probably put on about 35 pounds. Maybe by the end of it, it was close to 40. Whereas with Mason, my first pregnancy, I put on like 55. So it was a big difference.

How much do you have left to lose?
I’m about five [pounds] off from where I started. But I want to drop another 10. So I have 10 more pounds, and I'll do that over the rest of the year. But see, weight's tricky too, because I’m putting on muscle. When I had Mason, I was the lightest weight I’ve ever been, but I wasn’t working out. So I looked skinny, and the scale was reading skinny, but I had no muscle tone to me. This time I want to have muscles, so I’m probably going to weight a little more than I did.

Did you go through stages of feeling "unsexy" while you were carrying the baby weight?
Oh god, I did not like being pregnant. I was just reading a magazine where there were a group of celebrities that loved being pregnant, so they never wanted to stop. And then there was a group of women that were just like, I hated it. And I just hated it.

The age of the baby boomer is upon us and this feisty group of retirees are more active than any other retired generation. The key to keeping them active and happy is to offer fitness tips that are worth their time and fun to accomplish. Here are the top 6 fitness tips for baby boomers:
1. Listen to your body. As the body ages, it tends to take longer to recover. The key to keeping active well into your aging years is to listen to what your body is telling you. Some activities of your youth may be too strenuous for the body as you age, but that does not mean you can not adjust those activities to be less taxing on the body. The aches and pains associated with fitness are the body telling you that it needs to rest.
2. Keep the doctor informed. Your doctor needs to have all of the information pertaining to your body. When visiting the doctor, tell them about your fitness program and how the exercise makes you feel. Write down the program you are following just in case some of the aches you are feeling can be explained more easily by the actions and daily activities you are choosing.
3. Keep it social. As the years add up, older adults tend to be less social than they once were. This isolation can make exercise programs a bore and they are they just left to the way side for other activities. Including a friend on a daily walk can keep your life full of the social interaction needed to stay happy and fight off depression.
4. Push yourself. but not too hard, Even the baby boomer needs to sweat, but that does not mean pushing yourself beyond the limits of comfortable. During a workout you should still be able to talk in complete sentences and not be totally out of breath.
5. Get a pet. Motivation is one of the major problems with an exercise or fitness program for the aging adult. A pet can help. Walking a dog every day is exercise and dogs, as well as other pets, are known to be beneficial on the health of older people in many ways. Keeping that dog active will be keeping you active and that is the sole purpose of a fitness program.
6. Be happy. Exercise should be something that is fun and enjoyable. When a program becomes stale or boring, that program will no longer be something the baby boomer wants to do. Don't be afraid to change the program and add fun, exciting events to your day. Just because you are aging does not mean you have to stop living life.
Fitness for the baby boomer is an important part of staying healthy for many more years. The human body needs activity to stay healthy and the baby boomer needs fun to stay interested in the fitness program. Keeping these tips in mind when starting an exercise or fitness routine will make that time all the more a part of your aging life for today, tomorrow and well into the future.

Having access to online resources is a benefit your mom or aunt probably didn't have when they planned their showers. The internet has great resources for advice, suppliers, and services, allowing you to host an fantastic baby shower.

You can find three types of assistance online. First, there is advice for etiquette and planning. Next, you'll find supplies for decorations, favors, and invitations. And finally, a new type of resource, the "social network", will help you share your shower with people far away.

Finding ideas for planning, etiquette, and tips is as close as your search engine. You'll find a number of experts available to help you with everything from wording your invitations, to picking out decorations.

Most of the advice available online comes from people who are experts in the field, or experienced home entertainers. They will provide creative, unusual, and classy themes, catering tips, and ideas for shower games.

Finding the decorations and supplies you'll need for your baby shower is extremely easy online. The internet literally has hundreds of specialty online retailers who cater to the baby shower market place. Some of these suppliers stock thousands of items, and can provide you with everything you nee to decorate your event.

A great advantage to working with online retailers, is that it is easy to mix and match the items available form different suppliers to craft your perfect decorating themes. You can select invitations, tableware, decorations, centerpieces, and gifts from different suppliers, and still be able to tie everything into a consistent theme, with coordinating colors.

Accounting for delivery times is one the biggest issues you will face when buying your suppliers online. Make sure your vendors disclose how quickly they ship, and the time it takes for the order to arrive so you can rely upon the delivery without stress.

The Internet has helped create a new type of baby shower - the 'virtual' baby shower. People hundreds or thousands of miles away can use these new social network services to participate in a 'web baby shower', without physically being there. These services include real time chat, pictures of what's going on at the shower, and other ways to help the remote people participate.

The internet has helped a lot of novice, and first time hosts throw a baby shower like an experienced pro. Give yourself a little time to research and plan your event, and you'll be able to "shower" your guest of honor with unforgettable memories.

*A $175 reservation fee is required for all appointments and is fully redeemable towards lancôme product. Limited space is available.*

and now for the bonus question i chose to ask dr. klauer for my readers (a question clearly near and dear to my heart): if you were dealing with someone with very little willpower, is there any specific food to avoid or small habit to pick up that would maximize their weight loss?

and her response: cravings can and must be dealt with. it might interest you to know that they tend to occur at particular times of the day, unique of each person. so pay attention to your time clock and plan your snack. personally, i can almost set my watch by them, 3pm i must have a snack. the absolute worst thing that you can do during a craving is to have a sugary snack. sugar is rapidly digested, raises blood glucose, causing insulin release which stores glucose in a muscle cell or fat cell. then hunger returns. great snack: a piece of fresh fruit and a piece of cheese. or try a piece of chicken with spicy salsa. crudités with hummus or yogurt is another idea. each of these snacks is a source of protein and complex carbohydrates, which take longer to digest so you are satisfied for a longer time. take home: sugar makes you hungrier, protein is satisfying.
